What information we collect

We collect personal information in the following ways:

Information you give us

When you fill in our contact form, we collect:

• Your name
• Your email address
• Your phone number (optional)
• Your website address (optional)
• The service you are interested in
• Your monthly budget range (optional)
• The content of your message

We do not collect payment information through this website.

When you use our free tools

When you use the website grader, we collect the web address you enter, the business type and town you give us, and your IP address. We fetch that one page the way a browser would and send its text to our AI provider to be scored. When you use the website cost calculator, any description of your project you type is sent to our AI provider to set the calculator options and, if you ask for one, to write your project brief. If you ask for a full report or a brief, we also collect your email address and, if you choose to give them, your name and phone number.

Each time one of our free tools is used, we receive an email telling us which tool, what was entered and the result, along with the approximate town and country the visit came from. It does not include your IP address, and it is kept as enquiry information, as described below.

Information collected automatically

If you consent to analytics cookies, certain technical information is collected automatically, including your IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited and time spent on the site. We use Google Analytics for traffic statistics and Microsoft Clarity, which captures anonymised session replays and heatmaps (mouse movements, clicks and scrolling, with form input masked) so we can see how to improve the site.

None of these analytics tools load until you have given consent. See our Cookie Policy for full details and the list of cookies used.

Separately, we count visits and actions on the site (for example, a contact form being sent or a free tool being used) with Umami, an analytics tool we run on a server we control. It sets no cookies, stores nothing on your device and does not identify you: it records the page, the referring site and any campaign tags in the link, your browser and device type, your country, and how quickly the page loaded. It never records anything you type into a form. Because it identifies no one, this part runs whether or not you accept analytics cookies.

If you accept analytics cookies, Umami also records anonymised session replays and heatmaps (where you click and how far you scroll), much as Clarity does. These are still cookieless, everything typed into a form is masked, and they are kept on the same server. None of this data is sold or shared with anyone.

How we use your information

We use the information you provide through our contact form to:

• Respond to your enquiry
• Carry out a free Google Ads account review where requested
• Follow up with you about our services where you have indicated interest
• Produce and email you the free tool reports you ask for
• Limit how often the free tools can be used, to prevent abuse

Where you have consented to analytics cookies, we use that information to:

• Understand how visitors use our website
• Identify and fix usability problems
• Improve our website and the services we offer

Legal basis for processing

Under UK GDPR, we rely on the following legal bases:

• Legitimate interests, to respond to enquiries and follow up with prospective clients who have contacted us. We have considered that this does not override your interests or rights.
• Consent, for analytics cookies, where you have accepted these through our cookie consent tool. You can withdraw this consent at any time.

How long we keep your information

Enquiry information is retained for up to two years from the date of your last contact with us, unless you ask us to delete it sooner or we enter into a client relationship with you, in which case separate retention terms apply.

Free tool results are kept for 24 hours so that a repeat check of the same page is instant, then deleted automatically. Usage counts tied to your IP address are deleted after about 25 hours. If you unlock a full report, your contact details are kept as enquiry information, as above.

Analytics data collected via cookies is retained in accordance with the settings of the relevant third-party tool, typically up to 14 months for Google Analytics, and up to around 30 days for Microsoft Clarity session data.

Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal data. We may share your information with the following third parties where necessary to operate our services:

• Resend, our email delivery provider, which processes contact form submissions to deliver enquiries to us. Resend processes data in accordance with its own privacy policy.
• Google LLC, where you have consented to analytics cookies, usage data is shared with Google via Google Analytics. Google may process this data outside the UK.
• Microsoft Corporation, where you have consented to analytics cookies, session and usage data is shared with Microsoft via Microsoft Clarity. Microsoft may process this data outside the UK.
• Anthropic PBC, our AI provider, which processes the text of the page you ask the website grader to check and any project description you give the website cost calculator, along with the business details you give, in order to produce your results. Anthropic may process this data outside the UK.
• Cloudflare Inc., which runs the Turnstile security check on our free tools to keep automated abuse out.
• Upstash Inc., which stores free tool usage counts and cached results for the short periods described above.
• Google LLC, whose PageSpeed Insights service measures the speed of the page you ask the website grader to check. Only the page address is sent.
• Vercel Inc., our website hosting and analytics provider, which processes technical data (including IP addresses) as part of delivering the website.

Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place in accordance with UK GDPR requirements.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

• Right of access: you can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Right to rectification: you can ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Right to erasure: you can ask us to delete your personal data in certain circumstances.
• Right to restriction: you can ask us to restrict how we process your data.
• Right to object: you can object to processing based on legitimate interests.
• Right to data portability: you can request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
